#DijitoNaMimi Fellowship

Digital platforms have significantly increased the number of opportunities available, including online businesses, freelancing, content creation, digital marketing, and more. To fully explore these opportunities, individuals with a wide range of digital skills are required. As the shift from analog to digital has taken place, many firms, enterprises, and workplaces have been adapting their systems to meet the demands of clients on digital platforms. Effective operation of these systems necessitates individuals with digital skills. The Dijito Na Mimi project commenced in early August 2022 and was completed in December 2022, with the objective of enhancing the capabilities of young people, particularly on digital platforms.

Recognizing the abundance of digital potential and the high prevalence of unemployment among Tanzanian young people and women, LP Digital takes aggressive steps to ensure that such opportunities are effectively utilized.

Project Objectives: The primary objectives of the project were as follows:

To provide digital skills to young people and women for positive engagement on digital platforms.

To assess the requirements and potential of similar projects.

To inspire and empower young people and women to fully leverage digital opportunities.

Launchpad Tanzania established a fellowship program, enrolling eight fellows who were trained in digital skills and online marketing. Fellows were required to attend monthly sessions and were provided with learning materials, as well as direct access to trainers. The program covered five key topics: digital safety, in-demand digital skills, content creation, freelancing, and digital marketing. Trainers with relevant expertise in each topic were invited to conduct four-hour training sessions, allowing fellows to practice and seek clarification on specific subjects.
