The SheTech Incubator & Accelerator Program - Supporting Feminist Technologies in Tanzania.

In a world where technology continues to shape industries and drive innovation, empowering women to thrive in the digital economy is crucial. Recognizing this need, The Women and Technology Platform by The Launchpad Tanzania introduced the SheTech Incubator and Accelerator Program – a groundbreaking initiative aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering women entrepreneurs in Tanzania's digital landscape. Let's take a closer look at the success stories emerging from the program's first cohort.

Program Overview

SheTech Incubator and Accelerator program aspired to bridge the gender gap in the technology industry by fostering a supportive ecosystem for women entrepreneurs. It emphasized innovation, mentorship, and resource accessibility to empower women-led startups and provide them with a robust foundation for success. It curated a series of workshops encompassing critical topics such as product development, financial planning, marketing strategies, and investor readiness. Personalized mentorship sessions complemented these workshops.

The program facilitated networking opportunities, enabling startups to forge collabora- tions, partnerships, and synergies within the ecosystem. Building strong networks with industry players, investors, and fellow entrepreneurs expanded opportunities for growth and learning. For instance, some participants showcased their progress through The Women and Digital Convention in October 06 2023, and recently The Tanzania Women and Technology Conference in March 06 2024 whereby the Minister of Community Develop- ment, Gender,Women and special groups Dr. Dorothy Gwajima as well as the US Ambassador to Tanzania Dr. Michael Battle Sr. ,both facilitated by The Launchpad Tanzania
